VT Residents: Help Make Vermont the 10th State to Enact A Student Choice Law!
Animalearn, the education division of the American Anti-Vivisection Society (AAVS), needs your help to pass legislation
that will ensure humane treatment of animals in schools and give Vermont students the right to choose an alternative to dissection!
Last year, (S. 34), a bill to grant students the right to choose an alternative to dissection, passed the Vermont Senate
with full support. But there is still more work to be done! Currently S. 34 is in the House Education Committee and needs
to be brought up for review. As a resident of Vermont, it is crucial that you contact the House Education Committee and ask
them to support S. 34. Please urge them to schedule a hearing for this important legislation before the legislative session
runs out on May 31, 2008!
What You Can Do:
Passage of this bill will make Vermont the 10th state in the United States to enact student choice legislation.
Please take a moment to contact your Representative and the members of the House Education Committee urging them to
support S. 34. If your state Representative is on the House Education committee, it is critical that he or she hear
from you ASAP.
