Urgent in California, help end animal testing on cosmetics

Take Action for Animals

The California legislature is currently considering a bill that would prevent the sale of any cosmetics newly tested on animals or containing ingredients tested on animals. This bill, the California Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act (SB 1249), may come up for a vote in the Senate as early as this week, so time is of the essence.

Please call your state Senator today! You can keep it simple and direct: “As a constituent, I would like you to vote YES on SB 1249, because it’s time to end animal testing on cosmetics.”

The truth is, there is no need to use animals to test the safety of cosmetics. Non-animal methods are reliable, widely available, and accepted with regulators and industry, making animal testing unnecessary.

It may make perfect sense, but there is opposition, so your phone call makes a difference.

You can find the name and contact information for your legislator at AAVS.org. Urge him/her to vote YES on SB 1249!
