Double your impact for chimps from research labs
Dear Friend,
Giving Tuesday is the most important fundraising day of the year. I’m so grateful for the outpouring of generosity we’ve already received from partners like you in the past few hours.
This support means the world to chimpanzees like Negra, who was stolen from her forest home in Africa when she was just a baby. Most likely, she saw her mother and other family members being shot as they tried to protect her—the first of many traumas she has endured.
She was brought to Pennsylvania where she was locked in a cage not much bigger than a bathroom stall. She was then rented out as a research subject, suffering decades of abuse, including countless surgeries.

After 35 years of this cruelty, Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest rescued Negra and brought her to their sanctuary in Washington State. They now provide all the food, medical treatment, and loving care she needs.
Tragically, Negra’s story is far from unique. Sanctuaries across the U.S. take care of hundreds of victims of laboratory research, at a tremendous expense.
AAVS provides funds to help make this possible.
Will you give today for someone like Negra? You can let them walk through the grass, see the sky, and live in a social group, which they couldn’t do when they were exploited for research.
