AAVS News
December 29, 2025
Dear Friend,
Many people are surprised when I tell them that ingredients in makeup, personal care, and everyday household products are still commonly tested on animals. Their next question is often, “How can I know which products?”
AAVS is a leader in promoting cruelty-free shopping. We manage the Leaping Bunny Program in the U.S. and Canada, which takes the guesswork out by certifying companies that don’t use animals for testing their products or ingredients.
We’re empowering more people to make informed decisions while they shop, and more companies are contacting us to be certified by Leaping Bunny. This puts increasing pressure on the remaining brands to also become cruelty-free.
Some animal testing for everyday products exposes mice to carcinogens and toxins. Other experiments poison animals until half of them die. The one I find most horrific is the Draize Test—rabbits are restrained for weeks after chemicals are placed in their eyes. Animals who survive the tests are often killed afterward.
Join me in creating a world without these barbaric tests.
AAVS is already making so much progress:
I’m excited to tell you that we currently certify 2,345 brands.
The Leaping Bunny logo is an internationally recognized sign of animal-friendly products.
Our Compassionate Shopping Guide is the only list of certified cruelty-free companies that is updated daily.
The Leaping Bunny app has a product scanner, making it easy to shop humanely.
These accomplishments are only possible with your support. Please click here to enable this work to continue.
Sincerely,
Luke Klein

P.S. It’s almost your last chance to donate in 2025. Will you make a special year-end gift today to help put an end to horrific animal testing on cosmetics and personal care products?
