Help us end the exploitation of animals for research
Dear Friend,
It’s heartbreaking that in 2025, animals are still suffering in laboratories, even though we now have humane, innovative methods that can advance science without causing harm.
Will you help to stop the suffering?
AAVS’s affiliate, the Alternatives Research & Development Foundation (ARDF), is leading the way by funding the development of cruelty-free scientific methods. Thanks in part to ARDF, the creation of alternatives to animal experimentation has grown into an exciting, cutting-edge field that reflects both scientific progress and our shared values.
ARDF has supported researchers working on a wide range of important diseases, such as childhood cancers, Alzheimer’s disease, and autism, who are developing innovative methods such as organs-on-a-chip and brain organoids. Not only do these new experimental methods avoid the suffering caused by using animals in research, but they can also provide insights into human biology that are more relevant for developing cures.
By funding these advances, ARDF is driving lasting changes in how researchers use animals.
I envision a future where no scientist relies on animals because humane, more effective alternatives are readily available.
